St. George Marathon

Mike and I had the great opportunity to run the St. George Marathon. We started our training in June with 5 miles being our long run and ended the 1st of October having run 26.2 miles. Through the 4 months of training we endured knee troubles, heart troubles, back troubles, sciatic nerve troubles, 4 am start times(which means we were up at 3:45am,to beat the summer heat), lots of gatorade, a couple of pairs of running shoes, lots of sweat, and yes a few tears. It's amazing to think that just over a year ago Mike couldn't even run a mile and now he has ran a marathon. His positive attitude and determination have made him a hero in my eyes and I feel so blessed to have been able to do this with him. We have been so blessed and are so grateful for the health and strength he now enjoys. It was an amazing experience! People ask us why a marathon and we tell them because WE CAN!

Thanks to Courtney Walker for getting some pictures of us as we ran. Mike and I ran the first 20 miles together, but because Mike had some troubles with his leg, he told me to go on without him.

Ohhh baby!
Smiling through the pain :)

Mike at the finish line. Zona was in the perfect spot to get a finish line photo with the time and everything. Unfortunately, she didn't know Mike and I split up so she wasn't expecting me to be by myself, so she missed me.

The first time we saw each other after the race. It was a little bit emotional having to finish without the other.

We needed a good hug.
I did it!

I did it!

Marathoners!

Our kids were able to come and support us. It was so great seeing them at the finish line.

Brad, Zona, and Gaylene came to cheer us on. We love you!

Our friends Nathan & Courtney Walker and Justin & Cara Smith drove all the way from Wyoming to support us. They were my angels at mile 23. They gave me the pick me up I needed to get me to the finish. We love you guys! You're the BEST!

Football season has come and gone. Conner and Josh both had a great season and we loved watching them play. We are so proud of our boys.

Josh played both defense and offense...he also was the kicker for a time until they had someone else do it.
